| What is a Great DJ Really Worth? |
|
Your choice of entertainer is an insurance policy against bad memories of a disappointing occasion. Unfortunately, the DJ is often the last service chosen, after much of the budget is spent on a venue, food and clothing. This “backward planning” often forces Brides and Party Planners to shop for the cheapest possible price. Many people will pay far more for a cake, flowers, or a veggie platter than they will for the most crucial ingredient of a party – the entertainment. The DJ you select will be taking on the responsibility of over 80% of the success of your party and often gets paid less than 1% of the total budget (based on the average $40,000.00 Wedding, 1% would equal $400.00), yet if the DJ you choose based solely on price is a poor performer, scruffy, late or worse, doesn't show up, let alone the poor quality equipment they may have, your entire investment is wasted, not just that 1%. The whole event will be a dissapointment. Your choice of entertainer can also be thought of as a commodity purchased to “feed” each of your guests. If your meals cost $65.00 per person (with 100 people), you’ll pay $6500.00 plus GST! Think about the last wedding you attended. Do you remember what was served? Most people don’t, and yet, it probably cost nearly $7000! Take a look at these statistics:

We are not a traditional multi operator business, you know the kind, the ones that employ any number of part time university students as DJ's looking for a little extra cash. We offer fully trained, experienced, full time professional DJ's dedicated solely to your day. Theyare not just a DJ they also work as an event manager. They will work closely with your function co-ordinator at the venue to ensure everything outside of food service runs smoothly. Unfortunately most people think that their function co-ordinator they have dealt with during the pre event period will be on hand during the event. Sadly this is not the case most of the time. They are really just sales people who leave the function management up to the staff supervisor. These are generally not the people you have met with and are mostly concerned with food and beverage service than the running of the actual event. That is why it is important to have someone at your event who knows how to manage an event including the entertainment. |
